Shahdara Sharief
Shahdara Sharief is one of the most popular religious sites for the followers of Islam religion in Jammu, India. The shrine is situated on a hillock in Thanna Mandi in Rajouri district in Jammu region, 177 km away from the city of Jammu. It was built by Maharaj Gulab Singh in 19th Century to commemorate Baba Ghulam Shah. Every day, thousands of devotees throng the shrine to pay their obeisance to the Baba. This shrine is scared for Muslim, Hindu and Sikh equally. Pilgrims from all cast, creed and faith visit the dargah and hence it imparts the message of peace and harmony exists among the people of the state.
