Kargil By Road
Kargil has better connectivity than other villages. Both the private and public sector bus services connect Kargil to Srinagar and Leh. Even private cars & jeeps run from Srinagar/Leh to Kargil regularly.
Kargil By Train
The nearest railhead to Kargil is Jammu Tawi. Trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, etc. connect to Jammu. One can take a taxi from Jammu to reach Gulmarg. The distance between Jammu and Gulmarg is 348 km (216 miles). At a distance of 283 km (175 miles), Udhampur is another nearest railway station. The Uttar Sampark Kranti Express train connects to Delhi with Udhampur.
Kargil By Air
Srinagar is the nearest airport to Kargil. Tourists can hire Local buses or taxi services to reach there.
