The Ladakh region is the largest of the 10 provinces in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. Physical features that characterize the region are its uplands, craggy, barren cliffs and plateaus. During summer the maximum temperature in the region goes up to 25 degrees and the minimum temperatures go down to 8 degree centigrade. During winters temperatures go down to about -20 degrees.
